Connect to the University Wi-Fi
Tip: You can access this site from on campus, including from a dedicated network for performing initial configuration of devices to connect to the University Wi-Fi. To connect to this special network, choose network name / SSID 'UoR-Setup' and enter network key 'ConnectMe' when prompted.
Students and staff can use eduroam to access the Internet at the University of Reading and thousands of other organisations worldwide. Visitors can also access the Internet at the University by using the UoR-Guest network.
On 28th October 2013, the University approved a capital project to improve and extend the Wi-Fi coverage across the University's estates. The status of this project, including projected installation dates for each building, is published here.
Service Announcement: On 2nd December 2013, the University changed the eduroam network to no longer support WPA-Enterprise encryption. If you have used the old (and now deprecated) "Eduroam Easy Installer", on your Windows 7 / Vista / XP SP3 system, it will be necessary for you to amend some configuration settings in order to continue to use eduroam.
We remind you that you must comply with the usage regulations of the University of Reading, your home insitution, and any applicable UK and international laws.
The University's electronic communications systems (including the voice and data networks, email, web servers and Internet connections) automatically and routinely log their usage. The University reserves the right to intercept, monitor and record electronic communications for lawful purposes as specified in the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) 2000.
Misuse will be traced, reported and dealt with appropriately and to the maximum extent permissible by law.
